Chambliss: For Lawyers, Management Of A Data Breach Is Key

May 18, 2016 (Mimesis Law) – Former US Senator Saxby Chambliss, now partner at DLA Piper, talks about how the growing sophistication of hackers worldwide presents a emerging threat for both law firms and companies operating in the United States. Chambliss emphasizes the need for lawyers to warn their clients and be prepared to manage intrusions not only from a technical perspective but also from a reputational and brand standpoint. “There are two types of major corporations in US – those who have been hacked by the Chinese and those who don’t know they’ve been hacked by the Chinese,” he says. His comments were made at Mimesis Law’s Cy-Pher Executive Roundtable at Barclays Rise in New York City.
