- Atlanta Hawks guard Thabo Sefolosha is set to file a $50 million lawsuit against NYPD officers after he suffered a broken leg during a violent arrest in April. The injury caused him to miss the remainder of the NBA season and playoffs.
- Palm Beach County prosecutor rejected calls for an external investigation into the fatal shooting of Corey Jones by Officer Nouman Raja.
- ACLU has brought a suit against Biloxi, Mississippi, for operating an “illegal revenue system” for jailing poor citizens who miss court payments.
- The date for an inquest into the fatal police shooting of Antonio Zambrano-Montes earlier this year in Pasco, TX, has been set for 23 February 2016. The hearing will require a jury of six individuals to make a recommendation as to whether the shooting was justified. The officers involved had already been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing by the county prosecutor.
