Fault Lines Links: Thousands of Ferguson Arrest Warrants Withdrawn

- A new judge in Ferguson announced the withdrawal of thousands of arrest warrants issued before December 31, 2014 and other procedural changes to the town’s municipal court system. Judge Donald McCullin’s decision is believed to nullify up to 10,000 warrants issued in the town of 21,000 residents.
- Police in Tuscaloosa, AL shot and killed Jeffory Tevis who was having a “mental episode” and lunged at them with a large spoon. Contrary to state rules, the officer involved did not have his body cam switched on.
- A SWAT team in Worchester, MA raided the wrong house, terrorizing a naked woman and her children. Marianne Diaz suffered a broken wrist during the encounter, but was told by police she was “treated with respect.”
- Adnan Syed’s attorney claims to have uncovered new evidence that should overturn his conviction for Hae Min Lee’s murder in 2000. Syed’s case was made famous by the “Serial” podcast.
