Fault Lines Links – Georgia Prosecutors To Indict Cop In Anthony Hill Death

Jan. 8, 2015 (Mimesis Law) — Good morning everybody, here’s what’s happening:

  • DeKalb County DA will reportedly seek to indict Officer Robert Olsen for murder in the fatal shooting of unarmed veteran Anthony Hill in March 2015. The officer was responding to a call that a naked man was acting strangely, when Hill allegedly charged at him leading Olsen to fire his weapon.
  • A trial date for March 28 was set for Kody Roach who was charged with murder after Orlando Officer Jeff Angel shot dead Maria Godinez. Angel fired his gun hitting Godinez after a confrontation with Roach. Roach did not fire any bullets during the encounter. The officer was cleared of any charges. If convicted, Roach faces life in prison.
  • Activist group ‘By Any Means’ has a trial date set for November 7 in their police brutality lawsuit. Demonstrators claim they were victims of police brutality during the Occupy Cal protest at the University of Berkeley in 2011.
  • A Baltimore judge ordered Officer William Porter to testify at the second trial in the death of Freddie Gray.
