DLA Piper’s Meltzer Sees Favorable Conditions For Mergers With Chinese Law Firms

Apr. 15, 2015 (Mimesis Law) — In the first part of a wide-ranging interview, DLA Piper’s Global Co-Chairman Roger Meltzer tells Aric Press that one of the more interesting takeaways from Dentons’ merger with Dacheng is how the Chinese government is possibly signaling interest in Chinese law firms having a more global reach. Asked if DLA Piper is poised to do a similar deal, Meltzer says it’s “unlikely that we would not consider looking very seriously at the right Chinese law firm.” Meltzer also talks about his firm’s recent merger with Canada’s Davis LLP.
