How DLA Piper Plans To Become A Premium Global Law Firm
Apr. 16, 2015 (Mimesis Law) — In the second half of his interview with DLA Piper’s Global Co-Chairman Roger Meltzer, Aric Press asks about the temptation to abandon the firm’s quest to become the largest premium law firm in the world and focus instead on a smaller, more profitable enterprise. Meltzer says that his firm has not given up on its aspirations. “We are being seen as a material competitor to the most prominent firms…five years ago we wouldn’t have been seen as a competitor with the kind of skillsets to do that kind of work,” he says. Meltzer also talks about how he views the market for lateral talent and how it fits in with DLA Piper’s plans to move from the “upper middle market to…a much more premium global firm.”
