Blecker: GM Recalls Show Need for Harsher Penalties for “Red Collar” Criminals

July 1, 2014 (Mimesis Law) — Robert Blecker, professor of law at New York Law School, talks with Lee Pacchia about the recently released internal investigation into the failure to report a problem with ignition switches on millions of cars manufactured by General Motors resulting in a number of fatalities. Blecker feels that harsher penalties, including prison sentences, for those at GM who failed to act in reporting the problem to the public are appropriate and necessary to punish those responsible and deter future wrongdoing.

Robert Blecker is the author of author of the recently published crime and punishment memoir — THE DEATH OF PUNISHMENT.
